Post Doctoral Associate (Jones Lab) - NMR Spectroscopy

The Jonesy lab in the Chemistry Department of NYU is looking for a talented post-doctoral associate to perform interdisciplinary work on studying RNA structure, RNA-protein interactions, and dynamics, with a NMR spectroscopy focus.

Successful applicants will be highly motivated with an interest in working in Chemical/Structural Biology and must hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Biophysics). The ideal candidate will have strong research experience, publications, and background knowledge in:

  • Experiences in construct design, cloning, protein expression and purification; in vitro RNA transcription and purification
  • Experience in structure determination of biomolecules by NMR
  • Experience using NMR to study conformational dynamics of biomolecules (e.g., T1, T2, R1rho, CLEANEX)
  • Experience running biophysical assays (e.g., ITC, FRET, SPR, etc.)

The candidate will also help with mentorship and training graduate and undergraduate students.

The terms of employment, which would be a year, with a possibility of renewal, include a competitive salary and other benefits (including access to subsidized NYU housing in NYC). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning Sept 2025, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
