About the Job

A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available to work on research related to development of predictive display systems for autonomous vehicle control and teleoperation applications. Expertise in the areas of vehicle dynamics, vehicle control, localization, computer vision, sensor fusion and estimation algorithms is desired. The research will involve generation of predictive video from delayed video in order to compensate for wireless latencies, for applications such as teleoperation, vehicle localization and health monitoring.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in either Robotics, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with expertise in vehicle dynamics, control systems, estimation algorithms and sensor fusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in development of predictive video display systems
  2. Experience in teleoperation and/or control of autonomous vehicles
  3. Experience in working with sensor systems such as GNSS, Lidar, Radar, and Cameras.
  4. Journal publications on topics related to computer vision, vehicle dynamics, sensor fusion and estimation algorithms.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $62,500 per year ; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

Position Type: Faculty and P&A Staff
