The Opportunity:

We are seeking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher who has an interest in carbon foot printing and greenhouse gas emissions. The postdoctoral researcher will be working on the LUNZ Footprint project (Projects - LUNZ Hub, "lunz-footprint" | Search | LinkedIn). The aim of the project is to understand how management practices and different management Interventions influence emissions from a wide range of grassland systems. Your role is to analyse data collected from 100 farms and processed in partnership with Agrecalc (Farm carbon calculator | Home | Agrecalc), Farm Carbon Toolkit (Home - Farm Carbon Toolkit), and the Coolfarm tool (Carbon Footprint Calculator | Measure Water & Biodiversity). These farms will practice interventions developed in other parts of the project.

You will be expected to contribute to publishing the results in the scientific literature so you will have a track record of publishing in refereed journals. The post holder will also be expected to develop strong linkages with colleagues in the wider academic team. You will be an excellent communicator with a record of knowledge exchange and a demonstrable ability to translate complex science into clear messages.

This post is offered on a fixed-term basis for 16 months, subject to funding, and is expected to end on 31 July 2027.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Masters degree (SCQF Level 11) in a relevant subject, such as Agricultural, Environmental or Biological Science.
