The Ohio State University is actively seeking a motivated and talented Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team in the Neurology Department. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work in the laboratory of Dr. Benjamin Segal on ongoing grant-funded projects centered around the roles of pathogenic and protective roles of novel B cell subsets in multiple sclerosis and animal models of multiple sclerosis, as well as the impact of biological aging on the pathogenesis and clinical course of progressive MS.The candidate will perform neuroimmunology research as directed by the PI in the department of Neurology; independently conduct assigned projects involving human tissue and fluid samples as well as mouse models. The candidate is expected to be able to perform animal tissue harvest and processing, flow cytometry, FACS sorting, cell culture, nucleic acid extractions, ELISAs, bead-based microarrays, immunohistocheistry, spatial transcriptomics and molecular analysis. The candidate is expected to be able to summarize data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepare research progress reports; assist principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; and other administrative duties as assigned by the Principal investigator; oversee and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities; assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate students in research methods and equipment operation; sets up and operates laboratory equipment; monitor research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed. Expertise in bioinformatics analysis of single cell and whole RNA sequencing data sets is preferred.

Minimum Education & Experience Required
To be considered for this Postdoctoral Scholar position candidates must possess , a Ph.D. in neuroscience, immunology, molecular biology, or a related field is required, along with strong research and data analysis skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a commitment to ethical research and diversity. We require applicants to demonstrate strong research skills, data analysis proficiency, and statistical expertise, coupled with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Successful candidates will have a proven ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams while also showcasing independent research capabilities and a strong trajectory towards research productivity, including peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
