Skills/Qualifications
The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions specified in:
- Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571 with amendments) and the Statutes of the University of Warsaw;
- Article 119 of the Statutes of the University of Warsaw;
- Regulations on the allocation of resources for the implementation of tasks financed by the National Centre of Science for OPUS 29 grant;
During the interview, the candidate presents a plan for further research activities and international experience.
The candidate should hold a PhD degree for no longer than 12 years before the date of signing an employment agreement in the project. A person who will be recruited for this position is expected to hold a PhD degree in biology, neuroscience, psychology, or a similar field. Moreover, she/he/they should be strongly motivated to learn and to make scientific discoveries. Fluency in English is an important requirement, due to a need for effective science communication and an international character of the scientific environment, where the research will be conducted. Previous experience with laboratory work, related to the project and a track record of professional development in areas related to systems neuroscience will be significant assets. Other requirements:
- experience in behavioral neuroscience and stereotaxic brain surgery in laboratory animals
- independent work ethic – a strong sense of commitment and engagement.
- no-task-is-too-small attitude
- strong research track record, documented by first-author publications
- good command of both oral and written English
- being a good team player
The PhD degree should be obtained in a country of the EU, EFTA, OECD or nostrified on the date of employment at the latest.
