Postdoc Dependable Waterborne Systems
Job Summary: The candidate will work on the Horizon Europe Project WARRANT with 13 partners, focusing on innovative research in dependable waterborne digital systems. This includes functional analysis and reliability assessment of systems involving AI, IoT, remote and autonomous shipping, and cybersecurity threats. The role also involves experimentation and validation in Living Labs, scientific dissemination, communication, and industry engagement. The position is in the department of Maritime and Transport Engineering at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty, as a senior researcher in the SAFE-NET group.
Responsibilities: Conduct functional analysis and reliability assessment of waterborne digital systems; Experiment and validate methods and platforms in Living Labs with stakeholders; Handle scientific dissemination, communication, and industry engagement.
Qualifications and Requirements: A PhD degree in a relevant field such as Fault Diagnosis, Fault Tolerant Control, Fault Management, Risk Assessment, or Resilient Control; Excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative modeling of ship systems and operations; Advanced programming skills; Excellent command of English; A problem-solving mindset and passion for interdisciplinary research with academic and industrial partners.
