Postdoc in Applied Planning and Scheduling under Uncertainty
Job Summary
This post-doctoral position focuses on making fundamental advances in infrastructure planning and scheduling under uncertainty, applied to modeling supply chain scenarios for offshore wind farm installation. It involves developing design approaches that account for manufacturing, storage, transport, port congestion, and weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Further develop and apply design approaches for major infrastructure projects, including offshore wind farms.
- Lead optimization of planning schemes for practical cases, such as mitigating disruptions.
- Work with the Sequential Decision Making group and collaborate with researchers in related faculties.
- Engage with industrial partners as part of the funded project.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hold a PhD degree or have submitted your dissertation.
- Be excited about making and applying fundamental advances in AI algorithms.
- Lead research and define approaches to project challenges.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including industrial partners; experience in the Dutch working environment is desirable.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Have fluency in written and spoken English; command of Dutch is helpful but not required.
