Postdoc in high entropy alloys for alkaline water electrolysis
Job Summary: A vacancy is available for a Postdoc in the field of high entropy alloys for alkaline water electrolysis at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The project involves synthesizing new high entropy alloy (HEA) materials and assessing their electrocatalytic performance in the oxygen evolution reaction. The aim is to understand the relationship between chemical composition and electrocatalytic performance using techniques like X-Ray diffraction, XPS, SEM-EDX, in-situ Raman, and IR. Stability measurements will be conducted in collaboration with a chemical company.
Responsibilities: Synthesize HEA materials, assess electrocatalytic performance, unravel catalytic mechanisms, and perform stability measurements.
Qualifications and Requirements: Motivated researcher with a PhD in electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, or a comparable domain. Ability to conduct high-quality academic research with demonstrable outputs. Team player who enjoys coaching students and working in interdisciplinary teams. Proven ability to manage complex projects on schedule. Excellent English proficiency, communication, and leadership skills. Knowledge and experience in electrochemistry and materials science are highly appreciated.
What the Employer Offers: Fixed-term contract for 2 years. Full-time employment with a salary between €3546 and €5538 per month according to the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale 10.
