Postdoc Position in Trapped Ion Quantum Information
Job Summary: Highly-motivated researchers will perform state-of-the-art atomic physics experiments and develop quantum technology in the hybrid atom-ion quantum systems lab, focusing on trapped ions for quantum computing and simulation.
Responsibilities: Work in a team to develop a new platform for quantum computing using trapped ions and optical tweezers; explore interactions with tightly focused laser beams; implement quantum gates using the optical Magnus effect; design scalable ion traps based on integrated photonics; set up optics, lasers, electronics, programming, and microfabrication.
Qualifications and Requirements: PhD in experimental physics or physical chemistry; previous laboratory experience with trapped ions or optical tweezers; excellent communication skills in English; scientific publications. What the Employer Offers: Temporary employment contract for 38 hours per week for 24 months; gross monthly salary between €3,546 and €5,538 (scale 10), depending on experience; 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end allowance; possible '30% ruling' for non-Dutch applicants; based at the University of Amsterdam.
