Job Description

The Institute of Science, Technology & Innovation (IST&I) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for multiple PostDoc positions in areas such as Organic chemistry, Polymer Science, Hydrometallurgy, Minerals engineering, and Environmental Science.

Subject 1: Design and synthesis of inorganic materials for heavy metals remediation

This project aims to develop advanced inorganic materials for applications as adsorbents and membrane materials for demetallization of wastewater and phosphoric acid, and recovery of valuable metals, synthesized from industrial byproducts.

Subject 2: Design of new polymer-based materials and functionalized resins

This project focuses on sustainable synthesis of functionalized biosourced polymers from agricultural waste for use as adsorbents and coating materials, and synthesis of functionalized ion-exchange resins for metals extraction.

Subject 3: Development of efficient and cost-effective additives through sustainable organic synthesis

This project involves designing and synthesizing organic and inorganic formulations for additives in phosphoric acid demetallization, including flotation collectors, defoamers, and deodorisers, analyzed using techniques like NMR, HPLC, and GC-MS.

Subject 4: Beneficiation and demetallization of phosphate rock

This project focuses on beneficiation and demetallization using flotation and selective leaching with synthesized agents to enhance phosphate rock quality.

Subject 5: Hydrometallurgical separation of metals

This project develops selective hydrometallurgical techniques for metals extraction and precipitation, including speciation cartography of metals.

Candidate Criteria

Candidates must be self-motivated, innovative, and able to work in an interdisciplinary environment. Requirements include a PhD in relevant fields, research experience, good publication record, excellent English skills, and expertise in material characterization techniques.
