Postdoc Research on Communication about Geothermal Projects
Job Summary
Within the CrossScale project, we seek a postdoctoral researcher to develop a communication strategy for a trusted and interactive question-and-answer process on geothermal energy. This research addresses uncertainties in information exchange among stakeholders, aiming to improve informed opinions and evaluation processes for geo-energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature research on communication about geothermal energy.
- Perform stakeholder analyses and exploratory interviews to identify communication bottlenecks, possibly by setting up and guiding a stakeholder panel.
- Design and execute survey experiments to test communication styles and scales.
- Investigate how visualization and storytelling of uncertainty affect trust and understanding.
- Develop and implement a tailored communication strategy for various societal actors.
- Publish scientific articles.
- Contribute to the "Leidraad" for environmental involvement in geothermal projects.
Qualifications and Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., communication science, psychology, sociology, energy systems, institutional economics, cultural anthropology).
- Proficiency in Dutch language (spoken and written) due to the project's context.
- Strong social and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and interdisciplinarily.
What the Employer Offers
