About the Job

The Zimmermann Lab is an interdisciplinary team that explores the neural foundation of decision making. We use approaches from neuroscience, economics, psychology, math and physics to figure out how organisms adaptively use their finite neural coding capacity to make choices. We are seeking a postdoctoral associate to join our team. The successful candidate should have a background in neuroscience, psychology, physics, math, computer science or related field with an interest in neuroscience and decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex imaging data using quantitative and computational approaches.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, optical engineers, fMRI researchers, and data scientists.
  • Present research findings at conferences and contribute to high-impact publications.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with in vivo optical imaging (two-photon, three-photon) or electrophysiology
  • Experience with imaging data analysis and software (e.g., MATLAB, Python).
  • Peer-reviewed publications in systems neuroscience.

About the Department

The Department of Neuroscience is committed to providing excellence in research, education, and public service. The Department of Neuroscience is part of the University of Minnesota's Medical School. The Medical School and related healthcare professional schools are grouped under the Academic Health Center.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $62,232 - $75,564 a year; depending on education/qualifications/experience (NIH Stipend Levels)
