Postdoctoral Fellow
The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world's preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, with a mission to discover, interpret, and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world, and the universe through research, education, and exhibition.
The Astrophysics department is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow to advance the scientific content of substellar mass objects.
Job duties include:
- Use data from the James Webb Space Telescope to differentiate atmospheric conditions.
- Perform retrievals on current data of low-temperature brown dwarfs.
The expected salary for the Postdoctoral Fellow is $72,000 annual.
Required Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in astronomy or physics.
- Experience working with James Webb Space Telescope data.
- Experience performing spectroscopic retrievals.
