Support research in sustainable viticulture and disease-resistant plant material to advance New Zealand's wine industry.

Join a dynamic research team contributing to innovative and sustainable viticulture practices. This postdoctoral position supports cutting-edge research into disease-resistant plant material, with strong industry relevance. Based within a well-resourced faculty, you'll work across collaborative research, teaching, and service, making a real impact on the future of New Zealand wine.
Some tasks of the role include:
- Conducting collaborative research in viticulture and plant physiology
- Publishing findings in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals
- Supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in related fields
- Analysing complex data using tools such as Python or R
- Applying for internal or national research funding
- Engaging with industry partners and academic collaborators
This is a 24-month fixed term role working 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) at our Lincoln Campus. Salary is fixed at $75,000 per annum.
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
You will have:
- A PhD in Plant Physiology, Viticulture, Plant Science, or a related discipline
- A growing publication record in relevant scientific areas
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Competency in data analysis and high data integrity standards
- Experience working in diverse and interdisciplinary environments
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to equity and diversity
- Alignment with Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.
