Lab introduction

Prof. Anna Wang Roe is the Director of ZIINT, which she established in 2014.

Her lab published a series of important works in Science Advances, PNAS, Current Biology, eLife, Neuroscientist, NeuroImage, Cerebral cortex in recent five years.

ZIINT is home to 15 labs, a 7T MRI imaging center for human and NHP research (outfitted with RF coil making facility, sensory psychophysics capabilities, anesthetized NHP preparation and awake NHP training facility), 100+ NHP facility, 2- and 3- photon facility, and high throughput microscopy, and data servers. Zhejiang University is located in Hangzhou, China, an hour by bullet train from Shanghai. Home to beautiful West Lake, Hangzhou is both a modern and a historical city, with an emphasis on culture and environment.

Research direction

(1) NHP mesoscale connectome project using focal stimulation combined with both 7T fMRI and optical imaging;

(2) Behaving NHP foveolar vision using 7T MRI, optical imaging, and electrophysiology;

(3) Development of amygdala networks in juvenile monkeys using focal stimulation in 7T MRI;

(4) Technology development for targeted mesoscale brain-machine interface.

Projects are interdisciplinary and involve multimodal technologies (electrophysiology, optical imaging, MRI, focal optical and electrical stimulation, MR physics).

Requirements

(1) Hold a PhD degree in the biological science, medical science, computer science, or mathematics;

(2) Expertise with one of the following experiences will be very appreciated: fMRI, familiarity with MRI analysis platform (e.g. Matlab, AFNI); optical imaging; 2- or 3-photon imaging; experience in studying brain circuitry;

(3) Ability to work self-motivated and as a team player.
