"POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE"

Three postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Valentin Dragoi’s systems neuroscience lab at the Center for Neural Systems Restoration (CNSR) at Houston Methodist Research Institute and Rice University. We are looking for outstanding scientists to work on the following projects: 1) Examine cortical circuits for visual perception and cognition using causal manipulations in non-human primates. 2) Examine cortical circuits for natural behavior in freely moving non-human primates exploring their environment, and 3) Examine neural circuits in the human brain. These projects involve potential collaborations with existing members of the Dragoi lab as well as with other labs in the Texas Medical Center and provide opportunities for interdisciplinary training and experience. Ideal applicants would have a strong background in systems, cognitive, and computational neuroscience. Candidates with prior experience in neurophysiology, optogenetics and electrical stimulation in behaving animals, and computer programming (especially Matlab) are especially encouraged to apply.
