- Base Salary (Level A Academic) $113,400 - $121,054 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate - Antenna Design to contribute to applied research in advanced wireless, radio, RIS and antenna systems. Working under the guidance of Professor Yonghui Li within a multidisciplinary research environment, the role will focus on antenna- and propagation-driven system design, experimental validation and integrated implementation with strong research translation outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- work closely with academic researchers, engineers and external stakeholders
- conduct applied research in advanced RIS, antenna and multi-antenna systems
- design, implement and evaluate antenna, RIS or RF system prototypes
- perform experimental testing, measurement campaigns and performance validation
- contribute to system-level integration and research translation outcomes
- support supervision and mentoring of postgraduate research students
About you

- a PhD in electrical engineering, antenna design, RF, telecommunications, electromagnetics or a closely related discipline
- a strong background in RF and antenna or closely related technical disciplines
- demonstrated experience designing advanced and practical RF, RIS or antenna systems
- experience translating theoretical concepts into experimental platforms or prototypes
- familiarity with antenna arrays, RIS, RF system concepts or system-level integration
- demonstrated capability in experimental research, prototyping and technical problem solving.
