Detailed DescriptionAbout the role

We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow to undertake collaborative research at the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering in the area of assessing the performance, structural reliability and safety of low carbon concrete structures. The position is funded by an Australian Research Council Discovery Project.

The Research Associate / Fellow will collaborate closely with academic investigators (UTS) to conduct an experimental testing program to assess the effects of creep and shrinkage on material and structural properties. These test results will then be used in the development of stochastic finite element analyses models to calculate structural reliabilities for strength and serviceability, and an assessment of safety factors for design of low carbon Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3) concretes. This will help assess if the design specifications in current Australian Standards are appropriate, or if current durability specifications need to be revised for low carbon concretes.

About you

As a Postdoctoral Research Associate or Fellow, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. To be successful in this role you will take responsibility to deliver high quality results for funded research projects as a contributor. • A PhD Degree (or a PhD student who just submitted thesis) in Materials, Civil or Structural Engineering or a very closely related field

• Demonstrated track record in the areas of materials and structural engineering, through high quality research publications (in top Journals in the related areas)

• Willingness to contribute to seek research funding from external sources

To be considered for Level B, you must demonstrate capabilities with leading experimental or research programs, and the ability to act independently with minimal supervision.
