Postdoctoral Research Associate in Reproductive Medicine

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a researcher to undertake research investigations in collaboration with and under the supervision of Consultant Senior Lecturer in Reproductive Medicine in order to realise the objectives and development of the research programme into young adults to preserve their future fertility using assisted reproductive technology (ART) and also manage premature menopause, including in high risk women attending Precision Prevention/Family History/BRCA clinics. The post holder will be responsible (under the guidance of Dr Jyotsna Pundir, Consultant Senior Lecturer in Reproductive Medicine), for undertaking specific research activities relating to the programme of work.

About You

You should have a good undergraduate degree in medicine (First or Upper Second MBBS or equivalent) and hold a MRCOG or equivalent specialist degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, along with relevant knowledge and experience in Gynaecology, fertility and menopause management. You should have a good understanding of the research process and knowledge of appropriate research protocols This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build research experience in reproductive and menopause management.

About the Institute

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to 450 staff, 100 PhD students and 500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute’s strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.

The postholder will be based in the Centre for Cancer Screening Prevention and Early Diagnosis (CCSPED), Wolfson Institute of Population Health. CCSPED brings together globally leading researchers focusing on cancer prevention, screening and detection and early diagnosis across two units. CCSPED also hosts the cross-cutting Cancer Behavioural Science group and the CRUK-funded Cancer Prevention Trials Unit.
