Position Summary:

An NIH-funded postdoctoral scientist position is available to study unique aspects of chlamydial pathogenesis in the laboratory of Dr. Rey Carabeo in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The vacancy is for a postdoctoral research associate to join a research group working on Chlamydia pathogenesis. The person will investigate intercellular communication between infected epithelial cells and various neighboring cell types to understand how pathogen infection positively or negatively influence infection dissemination. Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or related scientific fields is required for this position as well as expertise in working with C. trachomatis or other genetically intractable obligate intracellular bacterial pathogens, immune signaling, and transcriptomic analyses of host-pathogen interaction.
