The Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure, Institute of Structural Engineering is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate, Senior Lecturer, temporary replacement.
- Extent of employment: 20 hours per week
- Duration of employment: 1st of December 2026, for the time being until the end of maternity leave (with the option to extend the employment for the duration of parental leave)
- Workplace: Vienna
- Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1 lit. b
- Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 2.507,20 (payable 14 times per year)
Responsibilities
- Shared responsibility for teaching in the field of 'Structural Design and Engineering Structures'
- Independently delivering teaching modules in the subject area of 'Structural Design and Engineering Structures', taking into account the current state of research and practice
- Coordination of project work in the courses "Structural Design - Truss Structures", "Structural Design - Shell Structures", "Engineering Structures" and "Infrastructure Construction"
- (Co-)supervision of project work and final-year projects (Bachelor's and Master's theses) in the above-mentioned subject areas
- Carrying out administrative tasks relating to teaching at the Institute
- Co-ordinating the teaching content of courses at the Institute that build on one another
- Participating in the university's self-governance, particularly in the area of teaching
Required skills and qualifications
- Doctorate degree / PhD KTWW, Civil Engineering or similar
- Language skills: German is absolutely required (courses are taught in German), English skills (C1)
Desirable skills and qualifications
- Substantial teaching experience in the relevant subject areas is essential
- Enthusiasm for university teaching
- Practical experience in the relevant subject areas of 'Design and Structural Engineering'
- Design and structural engineering creativity
- Ability to teach current developments in structural engineering
- Ability to incorporate the latest design standards into teaching
- Solid academic expertise would be an advantage
