Postdoctoral Research Fellow
A postdoctoral position is available immediately for outstanding individuals to participate in research studying the biological function of cancer stem cells in brain tumors (glioma and medulloblastoma) and the signal pathways that regulate such cells.
Projects will be involved in developing new therapies for malignant brain tumors and studying how signaling pathways or genes regulate brain cancer stem cells using human primary tumor xenograft and transgenic mouse brain tumor models. This research will be a collaborative effort among the Department of Neurosurgery, Cell and Developmental Biology, and the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Michigan, and provides an excellent opportunity for training and career development.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD and/or MD Degree
- Three to five years of lab experience.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; current authorization to work in the United States is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong experience in molecular biology, mouse models, cell culture, and microarray analysis is preferred.
