Postdoctoral Research Fellow

About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and inquisitive Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to world-leading, industry-connected research within the Australasian Transformer Innovation Centre (TIC) at The University of Queensland. This role sits within a collaborative, ambitious research environment focused on advancing transformer operation, monitoring and life management in renewable-dominated power systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Research: Develop and deliver a coherent research program focused on transformer operation, condition monitoring and life management, including hardware-software testbeds, automation, and data analytics using AI and machine learning. Work closely with industry and research partners to support knowledge transfer, technology demonstration and potential commercialisation outcomes.
• Supervision and Researcher Development: Contribute to the supervision and development of Honours and Higher Degree Research students, supporting a positive, high-performing research culture.
• Citizenship and Service: Actively contribute to the life of the School and Centre through collaboration, service roles, industry engagement and upholding University values.
