Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Synthetic Organic Chemistry
The laboratory of Dr. Christos P. Constantinides at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an exciting Department of Energy (DOE)-funded project focused on developing new stable organic radical polarizing agents for nuclear spin hyperpolarization in NMR spectroscopy and imaging applications.
Project Overview:
This research aims to leverage radical dynamics to improve spin polarization transfer efficiency, using stable organic radicals as platforms for Overhauser DNP. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel organic radicals and assist in evaluating their properties using multi-field DNP-NMR.
Position Duration:
The initial appointment is term-limited for one year, with the possibility of extending it up to two years based on performance and the availability of funds.
Deadline & Start Date:
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is February 1, 2026. This position is supported by external funding. Any offer and start date are contingent upon receipt of the sponsor's formal renewal notice.
Additional Information:
The University of Michigan benefits for Postdoctoral Research Fellows may include paid or unpaid periods of excused absence, adherence to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), access to on-site child care, child care tuition grants, child care information resources, and access to dependent coverage for health insurance.
