This Postdoctoral Researcher – Honey bee Molecular and Microbiology position conducts research related to honey bee gut microbiomes and related colony health and behavior. This position has an innovation component and may lead to development of a novel honey bee health product. The position is an 18 month appointment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate (Academic) in microbiology, molecular biology or a related field.
- Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge to conduct microbiological and molecular research on honey bees is required.
- The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong background in microbiology and molecular biology.
- Experience working with honey bees and maintaining honey bee colonies.
- Experience designing and conducting scientific experiments.
- Ability to perform statistical analysis and data interpretation.
- Experience and/or interest in innovation, product development, and entrepreneurship.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
