Postdoctoral Researcher in biochemistry and cell biology

We are seeking to appoint a talented and ambitious postdoctoral researcher to join Prof. Matthew Freeman’s group at the Dunn School of Pathology to carry out research in the biochemistry and cell biology of rhomboid-like membrane proteins, with an emphasis on proteostasis and protein quality control. You will also be expected to provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and students.

The post-holder should hold a PhD/DPhil in a subject relevant to biochemistry and cell biology, together with relevant experience. You should be able to work independently to solve experimental problems and contribute ideas for new research projects. You should have sufficient specialist knowledge of rhomboid-like proteins as well as first-author publications. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, are essential.
