Postdoctoral Researcher in Genomics and Genome Editing

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on developing cutting-edge genomics methods. The main focus of the work will be on unravelling the intricate relationship between the sequence of the human genome and the development of common diseases. You will work on a collaborative project that aims to develop Machine Learning and laboratory-based approaches, for decoding how the human genome encodes gene expression levels. You will undertake large scale data generation from primary human samples using a method recently pioneered by the host laboratory (Hua et al., Nature 2021). You will be responsible for planning and carrying out your own laboratory research, generating high quality data and writing up findings for publication.

You will have a PhD (or thesis submitted at time of application) in Immunology, Haematology, Genetics or a related discipline, together with relevant experience. Experience in general laboratory and molecular biology techniques including PCR and cell culture will be essential. Experience of Next Generation Sequencing based protocols including ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq and Advanced Chromosome Conformation Capture Methods, will also be essential.

This position is available fixed term until 30 September 2027, funded by a Wellcome Discovery Award.
