"Postdoctoral researcher on drones and virtual reality 1.0 FTE"

Job Summary: The Department of Computational Cognitive Science at Tilburg University is seeking a Postdoctoral researcher to investigate virtual reality simulations of drone flights as part of the BeNeDrone project. This project focuses on medical drones for emergency and healthcare logistics, addressing legal, logistical, and societal challenges of using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to deliver critical medical goods.

Responsibilities: Study and measure the quality of VR simulations, analyze complex datasets related to learning, behavior, and human-system interactions using advanced quantitative methods, work in a team to develop and test VR simulations, conduct experiments, analyze data, and publish findings in international journals.

Qualifications and Requirements: Nearly completed PhD in experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive science, or a related field; excellent track record in publishing in recognized journals; strong enthusiasm for drones, virtual reality, and related fields; excellent research and analytical skills with experience in conducting experiments and data analysis; experience with or willingness to learn R, Python, and Unity; proficiency in written and spoken Dutch and English; proactive, independent, curious, self-motivated, and result-driven; excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

What the Employer Offers: A fixed-term contract of 3 years at 1.0 FTE; starting gross salary between €4,728 and €6,433 per month; holiday allowance of 8%; end-of-year bonus of 8.3%; possible temporary tax-free allowance of 30% for researchers from outside the Netherlands; assistance in finding suitable accommodation; excellent fringe benefits including technical infrastructure, savings schemes, and sports facilities.
