Offer Description
We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a 3-year position to work on a project aimed at identifying new therapeutic strategies targeting the NF-κB pathway in two hematological malignancies: multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. This project is funded by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa).
Our recent work has led to the identification of new NF-κB regulators associated with the ubiquitin-proteasome system, as well as the characterization by mass spectrometry of the components of supramolecular complexes discovered in the laboratory that are involved in NF-κB activation. We have also demonstrated their constitutive presence in tumor cells. Compounds identified through a pharmacological screening approach represent promising therapeutic leads, including in models of bortezomib-resistant cell lines.
The project combines a fundamental research axis, aimed at gaining a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of the NF-κB signaling pathway induced by inflammatory cytokines, with an applied cancer research axis focused on identifying therapeutic targets in multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. The project may also extend to questions related to immunology, inflammation, and infection, taking advantage of the scientific environment of the CIMI and the laboratory's collaborations.
The postdoctoral researcher will investigate:
- the molecular mechanisms and new regulators controlling NF-κB activation in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines;
- the composition and dynamics of NF-κB activation complexes;
- the effects of the pharmacological targeting of regulators and proteins composing NF-κB-activating complexes in myeloma and lymphoma models, including bortezomib-sensitive and bortezomib-resistant models;
- the relevance of these findings in samples from patients with multiple myeloma.
The project benefits from a multidisciplinary research environment and collaborations with teams at the Institut Pasteur, the Toulouse Cancer Research Center (CRCT), and clinicians from AP-HP (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris).
