Offer Description
Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive primary brain tumor with poor prognosis. Increasing evidence indicates that extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a major role in tumor-microenvironment communication and contribute to cancer progression. Recent observations suggest that GBM cells interact with myelinated structures within the brain and that EV populations isolated from tumor-brain models display molecular signatures associated with myelin. However, the functional contribution of EV-mediated communication to glioblastoma invasion remains poorly understood.
The candidate will join Team 6 at the Nantes-Angers Cancer and Immunology Integrated Research Center (CRCI²NA) and contribute to a multidisciplinary project aimed at understanding the role of extracellular vesicles in GBM expansion. The project combines advanced cell culture systems, EV characterization, omics approaches and preclinical models to identify mechanisms by which tumor-derived EVs regulate their microenvironment and agressive behavior.
