Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Research Instruments Group is responsible for the operation, maintenance, management, and enhancement of the core research equipment and related infrastructure at the Radioactive Isotope (RI) Beam Factory, including the BigRIPS in-flight separator. The group produces RI beams using BigRIPS, delivers them to experimental users, and conducts physics research such as the search for undiscovered radioactive isotopes, and improvement of RI beam production methods. Additionally, the group develops technologies necessary to upgrade core experimental instrumentation. Through these activities, the group serves as the driving force for the continuous and efficient development of RI Beam Factory's research endeavors and international competitiveness.

Work content and job description
The successful candidate will be a member of the BigRIPS team and will actively contribute to the production and delivery of RI beams for user experiments at the BigRIPS in-flight separator. The candidate is also expected to play a central role in advancing the efficient production of heavier RI beams, particularly in the region of Z > 60, which is of growing importance to future BigRIPS research activities. This work will involve optimizing the ion optics of the BigRIPS in-flight separator and/or developing novel heavy-ion detectors.

Benefits
- Annual salary: 4 million yen
- Wages description: Salary will be an annual salary based on experience, ability, and performance, and will consist of a base salary and a variable salary. The variable salary will be determined each fiscal year based on experience, ability, and performance.
- Discretionary work, commuting and housing allowances will be provided. Social insurance will be applied.
- The approximate amount of salary at the time of employment: The total amount of monthly discretionary work allowance and monthly salary at the time of hiring will be 382,610 JPY or more.

In principle, employment contracts will not be renewed for individuals older than 70 years. 3. There will be an interim review on as a guide the third year.
