Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist position in the laboratory of Dr Juliette Fedry at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). The role is to work within a programme aimed at understanding the molecular basis of cellular proteostasis, developing novel structural cell biology methods. Specifically, to undertake research to investigate the in cell structure and organization of proteostasis related macromolecular complexes in health and diseases.

You should have a PhD in a relevant subject or be due to complete one within six months. Previous experience in several of the following areas is essential for the envisioned project: Cell biology: culture of mammalian cell lines and primary cells, knock out or knock down methods, transfection, transduction, protein synthesis and half-life measurements, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and confocal imaging; RNA biology: polysome profiling, RNA pulldown and mass spectrometry analysis, RNAseq, CLIP-seq, Mass spectrometry: protein identification and quantitative methods and Bioinformatics: knowledge of R software, analysis of proteomics and sequencing data

This is a three-year training and development position suitable for you if you have recently completed your doctoral studies, or you are looking to move into a new research discipline and/or need to further develop your research skills.
