Offer Description
The Department of Economics and Social Sciences, Institute of Marketing and Innovation is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate.
Extent of employment: 30 hours per week
Duration of employment: 1st of October 2026, limited to 30th of September 2030
Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1
Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 2.832,10 (payable 14 times per year)
Responsibilities:
- Writing a cumulative dissertation and publishing research results in international academic journals is desired
- Collaborating on ongoing interdisciplinary research projects, e.g., in the area of "crowdsourcing against climate change" with a focus on the so-called "Global South"
- Initiating and conducting initial independent research projects (third-party funding) in the fields of the "Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management" group
- Teaching courses in the area of "Sustainable Entrepreneurship," particularly in English
- Co-supervising theses within the framework of legal possibilities
- Supporting organizational and administrative tasks at the institute and in subject-specific study groups
- Willingness to contribute to Third Mission activities
- Willingness to travel, particularly for research projects in the so-called "Global South" (e.g., Africa)
Required skills and qualifications:
- Diploma degree in Business Administration, Environmental and Bioresource Management, Sustainable Development or other equivalent university degree
- Language skills: German (C2), English (C1 or higher)
- Profound knowledge of empirical research methods in business administration or other social sciences
Desirable skills and qualifications:
- Language skills in French (B1 level or higher)
- Experience in interdisciplinary projects as well as in thirdparty funded projects (e.g., EU, FWF, FFG)
- International experience
- Knowledge of agricultural supply chains for coffee, cocoa, or forestry products, as well as relevant (EU) legislation in this area
- Practical experience in research (e.g., initial conference contributions), teaching (e.g., tutorials, ideally first teaching assignments), and Third Mission activities (e.g., children's university)
- Teamwork skills, strong communication abilities, and organizational talent
