Job Summary

The Power Distribution Electrician performs service calls and work orders... up to and including 13,800-volts. Trains lesser skilled personnel.

2. Tests continuity of circuit...
3. Observes functioning of installed equipment...
4. Assists and consults with outside contractors...
5. Works from ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops...
6. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
7. Plans new or modified installations...
8. Prepares sketches...
9. Installs, maintains, repairs, and modifies electrical systems including 13,800-volt primary...
10. Installs control and distribution apparatus...
11. Keeps current of changes...
12. Troubleshoots electrical system problems...
13. Maintains knowledge of the current National Electrical Code...
14. Assists in design and construction...
15. Leads, performs with, and gives direction...
16. Installs, maintains, operates, repairs, and modifies electrical system...
17. Performs preventative or corrective maintenance...
18. Operates, performs preventative maintenance... 15kV switchgear...
19. Generates reports...

Required Qualifications

• Current Master Electrician License from state of Texas.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ten (10) years of journeyman level commercial/industrial electrical experience including a minimum of two years... 13,800-volt distribution systems.
• One (1) year supervisory role.
• This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio...
