License/Certification Required Essential Job Functions This position is responsible for working with live high voltage conductors, maintenance of electrical equipment, installation of underground power lines, and the repair of overhead lines and poles. Climbing, hand work, digging, heavy lifting, and all weather exterior work is required. Learns and develops thorough knowledge of all applicable codes and methods of installation and repair. Learns how to read and interpret schematics drawing and recommend corrective actions. Develops proficiency with SCADA, AMI, OMS and electronic systems to support in-field planning and troubleshooting. Must have the ability to operate University owned vehicles with valid driver's license. Ability to complete the registered apprenticeship program within the allotted timeframe as determined upon hire. Develops journeyman level skills and knowledge, with ability to complete both physical and technical duties upon program completion.
