RESEARCH CENTER: Institute of Sustainable Processes – University of Valladolid
JOB POSITION: Pre-doctoral Researcher in Biotechnology and Environmental Engineering
PROJECT TITLE: PHOTOBOOSTING - Intensification of photosynthetic CO2 conversion into commercial products via novel metabolic and engineering boosting strategies.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Enhancement of algal and photosynthetic bacterial biomass productivity and production of target high-value compounds through the implementation of boosting strategies. Design, operation, and monitoring of batch photobioreactors to evaluate different cultivation conditions; scale-up of the process in continuous photobioreactor systems; data analysis; techno-economic assessment of the developed processes; preparation of technical reports and scientific publications; participation in dissemination activities; support to project partners through data provision and technical assistance; and other project-related tasks.
DURATION: 16/10/2026 - 15/04/2029
MONTHLY GROSS SALARY: €1,980 (approx.)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biotechnology, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or related fields. Candidates may have completed or be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree.
- Oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong motivation for research and professional development, with a serious and committed approach to work responsibilities.
