Summary

The Barry University Nurse Anesthesiology Program consists of an entry level Doctor of Nursing Practice DNP) with Specialization in Anesthesiology track and a Post Master’s DNP with a Specialization in Anesthesiology track for a completion DNP degree. 

The full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in the Anesthesiology faculty position will be on-site in the Hollywood campus with expected travel to other distant sites as needed.

Representation to State and National Meetings is required.  Two meetings twice a year (AANA and ADCE, FANA as needed).

The program is a hybrid (in-person/remote) position with classroom sites in Hollywood, West Palm Beach, Orlando, and Ocala/Gainesville areas of Florida. In-person, live on-campus faculty activities are 2-3 days a week on selected days determined by program administration (didactic and simulation activities).

Essential Functions

• Teach in Anesthesiology and DNP courses in both Post Baccalaureate and Post Master’s DNP programs, and simulation lab based on expertise and interest. A heavy focus in simulation is expected.
• Advise students progressing through the program.
• Participate in research and other scholarly work(s)
• Engage in community and professional service.
• Create and maintain liaisons with professional organizations at the local, state, and national levels.
• Serve on university and program committees including the Anesthesiology Program Admissions and Curriculum Committees.
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Administrator

Qualifications/Requirements

• Earned doctoral degree and or progress towards a doctorate preferred.
• Eligible for Assistant/Associate Professor Rank
• Three or more years of professional experience
• At least one year of teaching experience in an academic setting and a strong background in clinical anesthesia preferred
