Principal Faculty Positions for Physician Assistant Program

College Carroll College invites applications for the position of Principal Faculty in the developing Physician Assistant Program. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing a new physician assistant program. The Principal Faculty position is a full-time 12-month faculty appointment in the Physician Assistant Studies program with a rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position reports directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director.
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the faculty member will support the development and implementation of the program curriculum and competencies to meet current practice standards as they relate to the PA role. Responsibilities will support the didactic and clinical phases of the program. Once students are enrolled in the program, a significant amount of time will be devoted to teaching in the didactic phase of the program. This position requires excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and support, have excellent critical thinking, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
Qualifications
Required
- Advanced degree in a health-related field.
For Physician Assistants/Physician Associates:
- Master’s degree (or higher) from an accredited Physician Assistant/Physician Associate program.
- Currently licensed physician assistant in good standing in the state of Montana or eligible to obtain licensure in Montana.
- Current NCCPA certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a PA.
For non-PAs:
- Must hold a MD, DO, or PhD.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field.
Proficiency in basic computer technology and the ability to learn new course learning management system(s), learning platforms and educational technologies.
Must have the ability to occasionally travel to clinical sites within the state and region to conduct on-site student assessments.
Preferred
- Prior faculty experience at an accredited physician assistant program.
- Prior experience teaching or precepting physician assistant and/or medical students.
- Previous experience teaching in the basic sciences.
- Previous administrative experience.
