Process Technology Instructor (Part-Time)

Job Description
The Process Technology Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction while also contributing significantly to program startup activities. Initial work beginning in Spring 2026 will focus on lab preparation, curriculum readiness, and coordination of program launch logistics, in addition to instructional planning.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Instruction Student Learning
- Teach Process Technology courses using a variety of instructional methods that support student success in both classroom and lab environments.
- Align instruction with industry standards, safety practices, and workforce expectations.
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
Program Launch Lab Preparation
- Prepare and organize the Process Technology lab for instructional use, including equipment setup, testing, and safety readiness.
- Assist with the development and refinement of lab activities, procedures, and documentation.
- Coordinate logistics related to program startup, including marketing, recruitment, materials, supplies, and equipment readiness for the August launch.
- Collaborate with academic leadership, student affairs, facilities, and industry partners to ensure successful program implementation.
Program Development Collaboration
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.
- Support accreditation, advisory committee engagement, and alignment with regional industry needs.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff across disciplines to support program growth and student success.
Salary Range:
If assigned less than 5 credits (Adjunct): Per credit rate of $775 - $1650.
If assigned 5 or more credits total (Temporary, PT): $44,144 – $96,906 Annually (Based upon 1.0 FTE of 32 credits per year. Pay will be prorated, based upon credit load). Salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2024–2025 MSCF Contract, and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office. Initial placement is limited to the step range permitted for new faculty under the MSCF salary schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in Process Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Biofuels Processing Technology or a closely related field.
Occupational Experience Requirement: Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in process technology, chemical processing, or a related field.
Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in a related field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in higher education, technical education, or workforce training.
- Experience setting up or managing instructional labs or training environments.
- Associate degree or certification in Process Technology (PTEC) or related discipline.
- Familiarity with industry-recognized credentials and competency-based education.
