Salary Range: Starting at $35,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary
The Production Assistant I assists in a variety of departments and/or University with various multimedia productions. Responsible for all aspects of media creation, including videography, photography, nonlinear editing, research, and writing of media materials.
Core Responsibilities
- Assists in the production of creative video needs for the UTSA Football Team.
- Develops and executes weekly plans to highlight unique aspects of UTSA Football through video.
- Films team functions and events throughout the year.
- Assists in the creation of weekly team highlight, recruiting and motivational videos.
- Captures video and still headshots of prospects during official visits.
- Maintains workable library of game/highlight archives including metadata tags.
- Ensures routinely backup media and video projects.
- Maintains inventory of all video equipment.
- Assists Video Coordinator with day-to-day technology operations.
- Films football practices and games.
- Helps hire staff and coordinate responsibilities of student assistants in the video office.
- Sets up and supports team meeting rooms at the UTSA Football Office, and during road and bowl trips.
- Assists with maintaining inventory of video/technology related supplies.
- Travels with football team for away trips and bowl games.
- Performs daily equipment checks around UTSA Football facilities to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Captures video and still headshots of prospects during official visits.
- Coordinates official visit technical needs with Video Coordinator.
- Assists with on-campus recruiting events as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Video Coordinator, Director of Football Operations and/or Head Football Coach.
- Assists in training student staff in creative video techniques and execution.
- Establishes annual calendar of video shoots and projects.
- Researches and implements new video editing techniques, content management and camera technologies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, with training in the area of television or film.
- Two (2) years of experience working in video production.
- Demonstrated technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or digital media control software.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience with live streaming events.
- Demonstrated ability to perform repairs on a wide variety of audio, visual, and computer equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery.
- Knowledge of camera, lighting, sound and editing.
- Understanding of online video environment and online distribution.
- Ability to adapt equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.
- Good interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred
- Effective time management skills.
- One year's experience in a NCAA Division I football program or professional football franchise.
- Experience with video software programs (e.g., Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Encoder, etc.).
- Ability to include, organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
- Experience in a high-pressure environment where deadlines must be met.
- Experience accepting input on a project and feedback on a concept and implementing this information.
- Ability to comply with all applicable NCAA, American Conference, and UTSA Athletic Department rules and regulations.
- Ability to deal with multiple personalities within the Athletic Department and utilize feedback offered in a positive manner.
- Experience using DSLR film style cameras for dramatic video features.
- Experience basic lighting interviews for quick turn-around features.
- Experience creating dramatic lighting for high end features and interviews.
- Experience with basic audio techniques used in on-camera interviews and in voice over situations for post-production projects.
- Experience choosing motivational style music that will appeal to a wide range of collegiate athletes while meeting certain criteria for appropriateness.
- Must have shown the ability to be a self-motivator and have a proven track record of working independently to complete assignments early or on time in a high demanding work environment.
- Must have ability to communicate well with others both verbally and in written form.
- Must be well organized and have the ability to make appointments and keep these appointments.
- Ability to provide information on needed upgrades of equipment and software for budgeting purposes.
Working Conditions
- Office environment.
- Frequent evening and weekend hours required.
- Ability to travel.
Physical Demands
- Light: Up to 20lbs - Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
