Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in film/media production, studio operations, equipment management, or academic media services. Demonstrated experience hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating student employees. Experience supporting studio and soundstage operations, set building, production safety, and larger team-based film productions. Demonstrated experience managing an equipment checkout operation, including reservations, circulation, inventory control, preventative maintenance, and repair coordination. Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: - Strong working knowledge of digital cinema cameras, lenses, lighting, grip, field sound, and studio-production equipment.
- Ability to teach technical workshops and provide hands-on support to students and faculty.
- Strong organizational, communication, customer-service, and project-management skills.
- Ability to develop clear procedures, documentation, and production best practices.
- Ability to establish clear expectations, assign work, provide ongoing feedback, and manage student staffing in support of equipment-cage operations, production spaces, and departmental activities.
Preferred Qualifications - MFA or other advanced degree in film, media production, or a related field.
- Experience working in higher education and supporting curricular production.
- Experience with 16mm film cameras and workflows, studio lighting and DMX control, set construction and soundstage operations, and professional digital cinema workflows.
- Experience producing or supporting larger collaborative film productions.
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Audition, and other current production and post-production tools.
