Professional Expert - Studio Music Specialists (SMS)

DESCRIPTION

This is a pool of applicants for Professional Expert, temporary positions for the Studio Music Specialists (SMS) at Napa Valley College. Applications submitted to this temporary pool will be screened by the Department of Human Resources for minimum qualifications. These temporary positions are at-will employment.

Rate: $60.00/hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Individual coaching meetings with students on specific expertise instrument.
• Assessing individual student improvement and provide feedback to students and instructor.
• Involvement in the required final juried evaluation of the students.
• Possible involvement in the auditioning process for the students in the course.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Educational: Bachelor's degree in music
2. Expertise in specific instrument:
   1. Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Euphonium, Tuba
   2. Percussion: Tuned and keyboard, Piano
   3. Strings: Guitar, Violin, Viola, Cello, String Bass
   4. Voice
   5. Woodwinds: Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, English horn, Bassoon
3. Experience in music education
4. Experience as a professional performer
