Position Summary

A group of young investigators in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at the WashU Medicine are seeking to hire two compassionate, dedicated Professional Rater IIs to join and amplify our growing team. We are devoted to improving the outcomes of preteens with mental health concerns and driven by a mission to enhance understanding of the role of social media in preteen health and development. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is transforming the landscape of preteen mental health—the results from this project may help us better understand how social media impacts mental health and development. In your role as a Professional Rater II, you will bring your clinical research expertise to conduct online (Zoom) and in-person clinical interview sessions and in-person EEG assessments with research participants between the ages of 10-12 and their caregivers. Through these comprehensive assessments, you will play an integral role in our data collection, supporting the assessment psychopathology and social media use in preteens, while working in close collaboration with our team of investigators and research staff.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, screens and schedules subjects for study per protocol.
  • Documents case history, charts and test scores using PC computer systems.
  • Performs in-person clinical interview sessions.
  • Performs EEG assessments with research participants between the ages of 10-12 and their caregivers.
  • Plans and implements study phases, day-to-day in-house and field operations and trouble shoots case processes.
  • Administers/scores tests, prepares/edits progress reports and attends meetings, providing case statistical analysis.
  • May participate in training of Professional Rater I.
  • Monitors and orders supplies necessary for study.
  • Prepares information packets for patients enrolled in study.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.

Certifications/Professional Licenses:
The list below may include all acceptable certifications, professional licenses and issuers. More than one credential, certification or professional license may be required depending on the role. Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross

More About This Job

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
  • Some evening and weekend availability may be required for this position.

Salary Range

$19.21 - $28.85 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
