The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering https://mae.hkust.edu.hk/ (MAE) has comprehensive teaching, and basic and applied research programs. There are currently 30+ faculty members, about 450 undergraduate students and 450 postgraduate students in the department. Our research activities are well supported by multi-disciplinary research facilities and collaborations across the university.
The MAE Department invites applications for multiple faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor). We welcome outstanding candidates in all research areas of the department, including but not limited to robotics, aerospace, advanced materials, green and smart manufacturing, and sustainable energy systems.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, a strong record of scholarly publications, and recognized research and/or industrial experience. Successful candidates are expected to establish an externally funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
Appointment at all ranks (Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor) will be considered. Competitive salaries commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. Ample opportunities for professional growth and development are available. Appointment as Professor will be on substantive basis while appointment as Assistant / Associate Professor will normally be on a three-year contract. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
