Professor (Health Economics)
We welcome candidates conducting research in health economics (focused on public policy) and/or macroeconomics. Base salary range: Level E $222,129 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation. We strongly encourage applications from women and underrepresented groups.
About the area
The UWA Business School, ranked among the top Business Schools in Australia (3rd in 2022 and 4th in 2023 by the AFR), has approximately 100 academic staff and 5,000 students, offering undergraduate, master's, MBA, and PhD degrees (https://www.uwa.edu.au/schools/Business). The Economics Department is a leading research and education centre in Australia and the Indo-Pacific region. About the opportunity
- Conduct internationally recognised research, publish in top-tier journals, secure external funding, and build strategic collaborations with industry, government, and academia.
- Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise honours and postgraduate students, and lead curriculum development and assessment to enhance the student learning experience.
- Provide leadership in School and University governance, contribute to strategic planning, represent UWA in academic and professional, and support inclusion, diversity, and social impact initiatives.
About you
- PhD in Economics or related field.
- Track record of research excellence and sustainable peer-reviewed journal articles publications in top-ranked journals.
- Sustained major research funding success as lead investigator from competitive grant sources, industry, government, charities, and/or philanthropic sources.
- Exhibit teaching excellence at the University level, including an emerging record of the development and delivery of curricula.
- Experience in mentoring junior colleagues and tutors, where relevant.
- Lead and collaborate with academic governance and department administrative matters.
