Professor in Accounting

The Department of Accountancy and Finance in the Faculty of Business and Economics has a full-time vacancy for a Professor in the field of Accounting.

Position

You will contribute to the University of Antwerp’s three core tasks: education, research, and services.

Education

• You provide high-quality education in the Accounting domain.
• Your teaching role evolves with study programs and may include courses in Accounting for Bachelor and Master programs, potentially in Dutch and English.
• You play a role in developing activating, student-centered program components and supervise students and their Master dissertations.

Research

• You initiate high-quality scientific research in Accounting and collaborate with department members.
• You develop new research lines, secure funding, coordinate projects, publish in leading journals, maintain an international network, and supervise students.

Services

• You provide academic services within the faculty, university, and society, such as participating in student recruitment and committees.
• You take on coordinating responsibilities and contribute to policies with a motivating leadership style.

Profile

• You hold a PhD in applied economics, economics, accountancy, or equivalent.
• Your research aligns with university policies and includes publications in leading journals.
• Your teaching competences align with the university’s educational vision, and you are motivated to develop further.
• If not proficient in Dutch, you must obtain CEFR B2 level, and C1 for teaching.
• You demonstrate leadership, organizational skills, and values like quality and cooperation.
