Overview
The School of Engineering is seeking a distinguished and visionary Professor of Aviation with recognised expertise in Aviation Management or Human Factors to join our academic leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and shape the future of aviation education and research in one of Australia’s most progressive engineering schools.
As Professor, you will play a pivotal leadership role in advancing the teaching, research, and industry engagement activities within the aviation discipline. You will contribute to the strategic direction of the School, inspire academic staff, and help foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, development, and renewal of curriculum that aligns with evolving industry standards and future workforce needs.
- Delivering high-quality, engaging teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Supervising Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students and mentoring early- and mid-career academics.
- Conducting and leading impactful research that advances the field of aviation human factors and informs both policy and practice.
- Building and maintaining long-term partnerships with industry, professional bodies, and regulatory agencies.
- Leading the growth and development of a dynamic and collegial aviation team within the School of Engineering.

This full-time, ongoing position attracts a remuneration of $220,621 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
