Professor in Data Science and AI

About You

We're seeking a distinguished and impact-minded academic leader to join our team as a Professor in Data Science and AI. In this senior role, you'll be a key driver of research excellence, innovative teaching, and strategic leadership within the School of Computing Technologies.

In this role, you will lead high-impact research projects, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and build strong national and global partnerships across academia, government, and industry. Furthermore, this role will see you:

• Contribute to teaching and curriculum development within the Data Science and AI discipline, support the strategic direction of the School, and mentor staff to drive academic excellence
• Have expertise that complements our existing strengths-such as Responsible AI, Intelligent Decision Making, and Multi-modal Machine Learning-including areas like Neuro-symbolic AI, Knowledge Graphs, Contextual AI, Conversational AI, and Trustworthy & Safe AI.

This role also offers the opportunity to explore human-AI teaming and ethical AI adoption in collaboration with colleagues across STEM, Design and Social Context, and Business and Law.
