Professor in Management (Information Systems and Innovation)
The Department of Management holds a central position within LSE, a world leading university specializing in the social sciences, located in the heart of London. The department's faculty and research expertise are focused on various areas, including information systems and innovation, employment relations and human resource management, organisational behaviour, managerial economics and strategy, and marketing.
Faculty members actively engage in research and scholarly activities across LSE, collaborating with other faculty groups, including the newly formed Governance, Environment, and Technology (GET) faculty group, as well as various interdisciplinary institutes. The Department’s degree portfolio includes the BSc Management, Master’s in Management, specialist Master’s programmes, including the MSc in Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation (MISDI), and a PhD in Management.
The Department of Management seeks an exceptional senior scholar to join and help lead our Information Systems and Innovation group as a global hub for digital innovation research. We seek a leader who will shape the future of our Information Systems and Innovation (ISI) group through exceptional research, inspiring teaching, mentorship of junior faculty, and active leadership in both the Department and broader academic community. The role entails taking a leadership role within their respective academic fields of interest and the LSE community.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Information Systems or a relevant field. They should demonstrate a proven track record of outstanding research, as evidenced by existing publications in top-tier journals, such as MIS QuarterlyandInformation Systems Research. Editorial appointments at top-tier journals are a further, desirable, mark of contribution to research in the discipline. We are particularly interested in senior scholars who integrate computational social science approaches with traditional qualitative and/or quantitative approaches. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of collaborating with corporate partners and various funding agencies. Finally, the candidate should have a track record of excellence in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, or executive levels within the field of management.
