Job Description
The Department of Mathematics at Ohio University seeks applicants for the endowed David N. Keck Chair in Applied Analysis, at the rank of (full) Professor with tenure, to increase the national prominence of the college and university in this academic area. The Chair will
- Guide the newly established David N. Keck Center for Applied Mathematics,
- Conduct scholarly research,
- Share knowledge with our university communities,
- Mentor students at all levels, including directing doctoral dissertations and supervising postdoctoral researchers,
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and
- Participate in the general activities of the department.
- A salary enhancement,
- A reduction in scheduled teaching, and
- Funds for travel, registrations, software, materials, visitors, publication charges, hourly undergraduate research assistants, etc.
- David N. Keck Postdoctoral Visiting Professors,
- Research activities of member faculty,
- Student research assistants, and
- Other discretionary activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Required at the time of application:
Ph. D. in the Mathematical Sciences or closely related fields.
Achieved rank of Associate Professor with tenure at an academic institution or an equivalent government, industry, or academic position.
An ongoing research program in Applied Analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Achieved rank of (full) Professor with tenure at an academic institution or an equivalent government, industry, or academic position.
Evidence of:
- Outstanding research
- Leadership
- Teaching excellence
